To bring….or not to bring.

One week before leaving for Iceland and the decisions of what materials to take with me are still unresolved. Some of the delay is caused by not wanting to limit my possibilities by deciding in advance what I should be using there before I arrive but equally I want to be well prepared for many eventualities….then there’s the baggage allowance.

In this ‘chaos’ a back to basics kit is appealing – sketchbooks, pencils, pigments, drawing to understand the environment in a deeper way which is by-passed by the quick capture of the camera lens. This decision feels right so a-packing I will go.image

  1. I have loved looking at your work on your website for a long time and I’m so looking forward to seeing this residency evolve. The colours look perfect for the far north and I can’t wait to see what this month will bring for you. Good luck and safe journey.

    1. I hope you have a fabulous time up there. I really thought your work at the Whitehouse was absolutely stunning. It was great to see it when I went to see mum’s sculptures. I’m looking forward to seeing the results of this residency. Safe journey …and enjoy!

      1. Thanks Fiona, it’s lightly snowing here today but yesterday was one of those arctic blue frosty days when anything seems possible. I’m surrounded by snowy mountains so I can see these being featured somewhere along the line.
